Began Coaching in 2006 after his family took ownership of Roller City in Cheyenne,WY. Hopes to be one of the First Olympic Inline Speed Skating coaches. Greatest accomplishment as a coach so far 2 National Titles. Most enjoys Seeing an athlete progress day by day, practice by practice.

Loy Archuleta/ Coach,Loy has been skating for over 40 years.  He taught beginner skating classes at Roll-O-Rama roller rink in Thornton and now enjoys seeing former skating students bringing their own children to the rink.  He began coaching for the Rocky Mountain Racing speed team in 2003 and says that he has enjoyed every day with this team.  His goal is to help all his skaters improve and to see them reach their own goals at regional and national competitions.  His biggest thrill was seeing some of his skaters on the podium at National Championships.

Shannon Nelson, Shannon started inline skating for fun and fitness in her late 30's.  At the urging of a friend she started competing in outdoor races and soon caught the "speed skating bug".  She earned many medals in 10K, half-marathon and marathon races but is most proud of finishing third in her age division in the Duluth Inline Marathon in 1998.  She eventually started practicing with an indoor team as a means of improving her outdoor skating but got hooked on the excitement of indoor racing and entered her first indoor competition at the age of 45.  She has since earned 4 National medals and at 55 is currently the oldest skater on the team.  Shannon likes to believe that she is living proof that you're never too old to learn something new. Shannon is the team's secretary/treasurer and the contact for information on practices at the Brighton rink (sk8rlady@mac.com).

Ryan Hughes, Athlete-
Began inline skating around the age of 10. Skated mostly agressive inline and street hockey due to the fact that there were no rinks near his hometown of Ralston, PA. Joined the U.S Air Force at age 19 and was stationed in Cheyenne, WY. During his time in Cheyenne a fellow Airman introduced him to what would eventually be his home rink at Roller City Cheyenne. Was introduced to the sport of Inline Speed Skating at age 25 by his friend and coach Anthony Bannon. After already being a very accompished long distance and marathon runner, Ryan has enjoyed every aspect of his short career as an inline speed skater and plans to continue speed skating for a very long time. Accomplishment he is most proud of would have to be making the top ten in the 2009 U.S 10k classic, his first ever outdoor race on skates.
